We don’t lose ourselves in the Other.
We find out who we are.
Aubrey Aust is a speaker, writer, and facilitator trained in psychology and philosophy. Her work examines how relationships shape identity, drawing from psychoanalysis, attachment theory, and embodied approaches to healing.
She holds an M.A. in Relational Psychology and Philosophy from NYU, a B.A. in Political Theory from Pomona College, and hosts the podcast Hint of Trauma.
Our relationships don't just reflect who we are — they produce us. The longing, the fear, the desire, the shame, the tenderness are the deepest structures of ordinary life.
Drawing from psychoanalysis, attachment theory, somatic psychology, and philosophy, Aubrey studies how identity is formed and transformed through relational experience, including the spaces that conventional frameworks tend to overlook.
